Training for workers: Catalonia opens a new call for grants.

14-09-2026

Employee training is one of those areas many companies know they need to improve, yet often end up sidelining in the daily rush of business. Factors such as costs, a lack of time, or the difficulty of finding suitable training can make updating a team's skills less straightforward than it might seem.

To facilitate this type of training, the Generalitat has launched a new call for grant applications under the Workplace Training System programs aimed at currently employed workers. The application period opened on September 8 and runs until September 30, 2026.

It is not simply a matter of taking courses to tick a box. Well-chosen training can enhance a team's capabilities and help the company adapt to technological shifts, new ways of working, or specific sector needs.
For small businesses, in particular, subsidized training can provide access to programs that would otherwise entail an additional cost.

This call for applications covers training programs designed for employed workers. Information and the application process are handled through the relevant bodies of the Generalitat and the SOC.

It is important to distinguish this call for applications from other training initiatives currently available in Catalonia. For instance, the *Forma i Contracta* 2026 program operates under a separate call, aimed primarily at training unemployed individuals with a subsequent commitment to hire them for a minimum of six months.
