Small businesses and organisations in Catalonia have a new opportunity to make progress on workplace equality. The Catalan Government has opened a grant programme designed to encourage the development of equality plans in organisations with fewer than 50 employees.
Published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Catalonia, the programme is co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus for Catalonia 2021–2027. Its aim is to help more organisations introduce measures that promote equal opportunities in the workplace.
Equality plans allow organisations to assess their current situation, identify potential inequalities and establish measures to create a fairer working environment. They can address issues such as equal treatment, professional opportunities and the prevention of discrimination.
Who can apply?
The call is aimed at companies and organisations with fewer than 50 employees that meet the conditions set out in the official rules. Grants are awarded under a non-competitive procedure, in accordance with the programme regulations, so applicants should carefully check the eligibility criteria and required documentation before applying.
Applications are open from 20 October to 9 November 2026, inclusive. The application process must be completed online through the Catalan Government’s official channels.
Before applying, organisations should review the official call to check the eligibility conditions, eligible activities and documentation required. It is also advisable to prepare the application in advance rather than leave it until the final day.
This initiative may provide an opportunity for small businesses to strengthen their workplace policies and take further steps towards creating a more equal working environment.
