The recent heavy rainfall and storms have caused damage in different parts of Catalonia, affecting businesses, self-employed workers and economic activities.
To support the recovery, the Generalitat has approved an urgent €75 million support package aimed at repairing damage and helping affected areas and businesses return to normal activity.
The package includes several different measures. €20 million will be allocated to affected municipalities to repair damaged infrastructure and public facilities.
For businesses and self-employed workers, €5 million in financial aid will be available to support the recovery of affected economic sectors.
In addition, a €50 million credit line through the ICF has been introduced to provide liquidity to businesses and self-employed workers that need to cover expenses caused by the storms and restore their normal activity.
This may be particularly relevant for businesses that have suffered damage to their premises, machinery or equipment, or that have had to deal with additional costs in order to reopen and continue operating.
If your business has suffered damage, one of the first steps is to collect and keep all documentation related to the incident: photographs, invoices, repair estimates, proof of expenses and any other documents that can demonstrate how the storm has affected your business.
It is also important to check whether your insurance provides coverage and to find out which forms of financial aid or financing may apply to your situation. Not every measure applies to every business, so it is worth reviewing your individual circumstances before starting any application process.
At Grupo Gestiona, we want to make this process a little easier. We can help you understand what documentation you may need and assist you with the administrative procedures related to your business.
If your business has been affected by the recent storms, get in touch with us and we will review the options available to you.
