Catalonia offers grants of up to €30,000 to help businesses relocate to street-level premises

13-10-2026

The Government of Catalonia has opened a new grant scheme for self-employed professionals and businesses wishing to relocate their activity from a mezzanine or upper floor without direct street access to commercial premises located on the ground floor. The initiative aims to revitalise shopping streets across Catalonia while making it easier for some premises currently used for business activities to be converted into housing.

The grant can cover up to 75% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of €30,000 per establishment. Eligible costs may include the purchase, rental or administrative concession of the new premises, as well as certain works required to make them operational, such as renovations, technical installations, commercial furniture and interior design projects.

The scheme has an initial budget of €600,000 and is aimed at self-employed professionals and businesses that meet the eligibility requirements. Under the terms of the scheme, the business relocation must take place between 1 January and 31 December 2026.

Applications are open until 30 October 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Before applying, businesses should review the official terms and conditions, check which expenses are eligible and confirm which documents must be submitted. Not every business relocation will qualify for this grant.
